Abu Dhabi Airport Facts

Abu Dhabi airport is in the Abu Dhabi, the capital of the UAE. It is one of the fastest growing airports, with 34% increase in passengers in the first quarter of 2008. At the moment it is being expanded in a project worth over 6 billion dollars.
Abu Dhabi is a cosmopolitan centre of tourist attractions and business with many things to offer visitors and residents. The area has beautiful landscape, thriving opportunity for investments adn the one of the lowest crime rates in the world. It also boasts one of the highest income per person in the world.
Located just over 30 km from the main city of Abu Dhabi, the airport covers an area of over 300 thousand square metres, with 3 highways running from the centre of the city to the airport. The Khaleej Al Arab, Sheikh Rashid Al Maktoum Street and Salam Street. All of these highways merge onto the E10 road with is the approach to the Abu Dhabi airport.
The airport operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The second runway completed back in 2008 is over 4km long and over 60 meters wide, it will get its III B classification in the near future confirming the airports increasing functionality, making it one of the better airports in the world. It is a fully independant runway system, seperate, but parrelell to the existing runway, it operates exclusively to the rest of the airport.
The airport has won awards and over time it has increasingly become recognized as the airport of choice offering an excellent travel service with great facilities. A recent upgrade to its interior and exterior functions and facilities confirms the airports will to become a passenger centric place, with state of the art make overs to terminals and runways, the expansion will cost over 6 million dollars.
